It appears the latest trends of software development is to monetize with Ads or In App purchases. I wanted to share with you our thoughts of these practices. Advertising has taken root of almost every aspect of life. From age old television commercials advertising took another leap onto the internet as internet businesses looked for a way to monetize their sites. At first, it was simple one or two ads on a site, then they started putting ads into the rss feeds, as well as every changing ads which are designed to trick the end user into clicking.
In 2007, the first iPhone was released with an AppStore. At first, software developers were a little concerned about this new medium. Then Apple opened the flood gates to developers allowing not only advertising but In App Purchases as well. In doing so, it allowed developers to open the flood gates to their Apps by offering them for free, and taking money from the advertisements and or in app purchases.Once again, good for the developer, bad for the end user.
Now we are at a point where you can’t even find the article you are looking for on the web due to so many ads, and you can’t even enjoy your Applications due to Ads that pop up randomly. This is where we are making a stand. It is our belief that software you buy from us is YOURS to use when you want, however you want. We believe if you opt to buy one of our Apps, you should be able to enjoy it to the full without advertising or in app purchases.
We believe it is unfortunate that some developers feel the need to take away from the experience of their Apps by running ads, or allowing you to use their application without additional purchases. That is why we at Trixidia are holding firm on our belief that software should be the one place users can go without having ads or additional purchases thrown at them.
